This page offers three plans: Manufacturer Original Car Inspection, which is suitable for all makes and models, from basic to advanced vehicles Incl. Hybrid & 4WD, Luxury Car Inspection, and Performance Car Inspection, with service inclusions ranking just below our Ultra Performance Car Inspection and Supercar Inspection.
This plan is our most popular inspection and is suitable for all types of cars. Whether you own an Asian, European, or American car, be it a standard model like a Toyota Camry, a luxury car like a Mercedes-Benz or BMW, or a muscle car such as a Holden Commodore SS, this plan fits your needs.
What sets this plan apart is that it involves TWO inspectors conducting the inspection, and we use 100% Exact Same Diagnostic Computers that manufacturers use for each vehicle. The fault diagnosis is tailored to the specific make and model, using the vehicle’s VIN instead of a generic scan, ensuring that every issue is identified.
In addition, this plan enables us to uncover Hidden Faults, even if they have been deliberately cleared from the ECU, making it invaluable.
You can select this plan for any type of vehicle, including 2WD, 4WD, Hybrid, Van, Ute, SUV, and more.
At the same time, this plan is not suitable for electric cars, as their structure and components differ, and the inspectors for EVs have specific qualifications. For all EV inspections, please visit our Electric Car Inspection page.
Using the EXACT SAME Diagnostic Tool that the manufacturer uses, we perform an Unlimited 600+ Point Scan that is 100% Exclusive to your make and model and leaves absolutely nothing behind.
This check is done by finding your VIN number in the global market and running an unlimited scan of your car computer. Even if you have two same cars with slightly different aspects or different year models, the diagnostic scan will be still different!
This means complete peace of mind that everything in the ECU which is the brain of the car has been checked even if they still have not triggered the engine warning light inside your instrument cluster. You can choose this plan for all cars including Diesel, Hybrid & 4WD.
Our service, however, includes many additional assessments that manufacturers typically do not provide, such as Mobile Inspection Service, Electronic Rust Assessment, Electronic Paint Assessment, Previous Accident Assessment, and more, each requiring a specialised level of expertise beyond that of standard mechanics. Manufacturers often rely on apprentices for many tasks, whereas all our inspectors have between 15 to 30 years of mechanical experience, which makes a significant difference in the quality and depth of the inspection.
Buying a second-hand car can be daunting for many, as it’s often difficult to know exactly what you're getting or how honest the seller has been. We've addressed this concern by using advanced techniques and state-of-the-art diagnostic computers, equipped with the latest applications for each specific make and model.
This technology allows us to identify issues that may not have triggered the engine warning light yet, as well as problems that might have been deliberately erased prior to sale. This can save you thousands of dollars in repair costs and prevent major disappointment.
Regardless of what the seller claims or whether the vehicle lacks a service history, you can rely on us to uncover all hidden problems. From something as minor as a single faulty spark plug to more serious issues with the timing belt or chain, you can have complete peace of mind when you choose our service.
Just find the car that you like and leave the hard work to us and be 100% confident that no one can scam you when you have us by your side.
The computer scan we perform is not just limited to fault detection. Instead, we delve into each part of the engine, gearbox, cooling system, brake system, and all electronic components individually to assess their performance. This process is time-consuming and often extends the inspection duration, which used to cause frustration for both the seller and the buyer. To address this, we've hired more senior inspectors, and most of our top-tier plans, like this one, are now conducted by two licensed inspectors. Only @ Last Check.
One inspector carries out the physical inspection of the vehicle, while the second inspector, based in the office, analyses multiple pages of computer scan data line by line, identifying even the smallest issues with complete precision. Our remote inspector also reviews hundreds of high-resolution images taken during the inspection of each part, ensuring that anything missed by the first inspector is included in the final report, making Last Check’s reports exceptionally comprehensive and unmatched in the industry.
Using this method, we can uncover any issues the vehicle has had since it was first started. Even if a problem was covered up by simply removing the fault code, we can still identify it with 100% accuracy. This enables us to provide detailed feedback on key powertrain components such as the turbocharger, injectors, fuel system, and gearbox. For example, if the turbocharger is functioning but not producing sufficient boost, we can detect this issue and potentially save the buyer significant repair costs.
This plan is suitable for every make and model and is especially valuable if you're unfamiliar with the previous owner or are purchasing the vehicle from a dealer.
This plan is our most comprehensive offering before the Ultra Performance Car Inspection and Supercar Inspection, and it is suitable for all makes and models. Whether you own a standard everyday car or a luxury or performance vehicle, this plan will meet your needs.
At Last Check, we perform 100% Specialised Car Inspections, ensuring that every vehicle is examined by the right qualified inspector. Depending on the make and model, a different inspector will be assigned. Our team consists of senior and licensed inspectors with 15 to 30 years of experience in vehicle repair, maintenance, and inspection, who can identify even the smallest issues.
Whether you own a Mazda 3 or a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, this plan will cater to your needs. However, if your vehicle is equipped with a turbocharged or supercharged engine with 6 or more cylinders, you may prefer our Ultra Performance Car Inspection, which offers additional inclusions for enhanced precision.
We do not employ junior mechanics or apprentices at Last Check. Even our senior mechanics are required to pass rigorous tests before they can join our team. This is our guarantee to you, ensuring that your vehicle inspection is handled with the highest level of expertise and knowledge, giving you complete confidence in the results. To find out more about our inspection, you can view Vehicles We Inspect.
Whether you have a standard, budget-friendly sedan like a Honda Civic, Mazda 3, or Ford Fiesta, or a van such as the Toyota HiAce or Hyundai iLoad, or even a 4WD like the Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger, this inspection will cover all. It also includes hybrid and LPG vehicles in the market.
This inspection is model-specific, meaning the checklist used for a Mazda CX-5 will differ from the one for a Toyota Corolla. Each inspector receives a tailored checklist based on the make and model of the vehicle since no two cars have identical components or performance characteristics.
As mentioned above, our computer fault diagnosis is also 100% specific to each make and model. Our diagnostic systems detect the vehicle's VIN and run an exclusive scan tailored to that vehicle. This check can vary even between two cars of the same make. For instance, a 2024 Hyundai i30 will have a different diagnostic process compared to a 2023 model. Similarly, two 2024 Honda Accords could have different checks if they belong to different classes.
While two cars may appear the same, one may have additional features like extra airbags, a sunroof, or a different infotainment system, and our computers adjust the scan accordingly to ensure nothing is missed.
Rest assured, nothing major will escape our inspection, and we will provide you with a detailed report on everything you need to know before purchasing the vehicle.
This plan is designed for all luxury cars in Australia, including hybrids and 4WDs, providing both a complete physical inspection and the vehicle’s original computer fault diagnosis. The inclusions of this plan vary depending on the make and model, with the computer scan customised based on the vehicle’s VIN, which is unique in the global market. Each inspection is tailored to the specific make and model, with a different checklist provided to the inspector, making this plan one of a kind in the industry.
The inspection is carried out by TWO licensed inspectors: one hands-on and another in the office, analysing multiple pages of computer diagnostic data, reviewing photos, and going over the first inspector’s notes to ensure the highest level of accuracy. The hands-on inspector is also selected based on the vehicle's make and model, ensuring the right expert is appointed for the job.
For example, if you own a Mercedes-Benz, your inspector might differ from someone with a Lexus. However, we have senior inspectors with 15 to 30 years of experience capable of handling a wide range of vehicles and performing complex tasks, as they are highly familiar with the model's repair and maintenance needs.
This inspection is fully mobile, like all our services, and can be performed anywhere, including private residences, roadside, dealerships, and auction yards. Simply book your inspection with confidence and leave the rest to our skilled inspectors.
This plan is the best pre-purchase inspection option for performance and muscle cars, suitable for all makes and models available in the Australian market. Like all our other plans, we assign specialised mechanics for muscle car inspections.
We have expert performance car inspectors with extensive experience in powerful engines and advanced technology to test large powertrains. This inspection is carried out by TWO Licensed Inspectors and is based on the vehicle's VIN. The checklist provided to the inspector is tailored to each specific make and model, ensuring that no two cars have the same inclusions.
This plan is ideal for vehicles with 6 to 8-cylinder engines, as well as 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engines. However, if the vehicle you're considering has a more powerful engine, such as a 6-cylinder turbocharged or supercharged engine, or models like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Audi RS3 to RS7, or BMW M series, we recommend our Ultra Performance Car Inspection. This higher-level plan includes everything from this inspection plus additional checks specifically designed for high-performance engines, with a focus on powertrain health and performance however you can still choose this plan if you wish to do so.
With the ability to detect all hidden fault codes and the involvement of two inspectors throughout the process, you can rest assured that we won't let you purchase a lemon that could cost you money in the future.
At Last Check, we ensure that no pre-purchase inspection is conducted without full insurance coverage. Our priority is to provide peace of mind for both the seller and the buyer, assuring them that if anything happens to the vehicle, we are fully insured.
We provide insurance for all inspected vehicles up to $100,000, along with public liability coverage between $5 million and $20 million, in case of an at-fault accident or any damage we may cause. While we are fully committed to returning the vehicle to the seller in its original condition, without disassembling any parts, we want both parties to feel reassured that they are covered in the rare event of an incident.
Our inspectors handle all vehicles with the utmost care and perform mobile roadside inspections at safe, secure locations for both the owner and the inspector. All necessary safety measures are followed to minimise risk. Nonetheless, our insurance is in place should any issue arise.
Whether the inspection takes place at a dealership or a private residence, our inspectors will not begin until they are certain that the vehicle is insured. This provides valuable reassurance to all parties that the vehicle inspection company they’ve engaged is professional and will not put their vehicle at risk in any way.
Our main goal is to exceed our valuable clients’ expectations by providing a Vehicle Inspection Service unlike any other along with the best possible customer service.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we take this very seriously. Our Licenced Inspectors do not look at any client as a number, they look at each car as if they want to buy it for themselves. This is how they have been trained before joining our force.
Our premium inspection plans include more checks which makes a big difference however our basic packages are still very comprehensive.
For each inspection, your inspector will get a different checklist and the vehicle inspection will not end until the list is completed. The checklist intensity and inclusions are based on the inspection package you have chosen, and different plans have different inclusions.
After the inspection, your inspector will call you and give you a complete verbal report over the phone. You will then have the chance to ask all mechanical questions from the same mechanic who has inspected your vehicle.
Within 24 hours of the inspection, you will receive a 25 to 30+ Page Report along with Hundreds of Pictures, Vehicle History Report (Official PPSR Report), your payment receipt and all other associated documents. To see what the report looks like, please visit the Sample Report page.
If your plan includes Urgent SMS Report that can be added to your service before checkout, you will get the report normally on the same day via SMS. If you are making a phone booking, you can ask us to upgrade your report to urgent. To learn more about us, please visit Why Last Check & Only @ Last Check.
