We all know that heavy vehicle repairs can be very pricey to the point that sometimes exceeds the entire value of the vehicle. A wrong investment on a bad Truck can be very risky and not always what looks ok, is always good.
Most of the time even a Truck that is running alright or looks good in the pictures has an untold story. That is why in almost 99% of the cases we find hidden problems on both Trucks and Trailers which need attention and is best to get some discount from the seller to cover the repair cost before the settlement.
in some cases, the truck will not serve you and it is only a waste of money which brings potential headaches and money loss.
Losing money on a bad investment is the last thing in everyone’s mind especially if you are investing a big sum to start a business.
This is when pre purchase truck inspection comes in handy to ensure the truck you are buying will serve you well and is no one else’s problem.
At Last Check, we provide the most comprehensive pre-purchase inspection service for all trucks, trailers, and heavy vehicles across Australia. There are no random inspections at Last Check. Only the right truck mechanic with the appropriate expertise is assigned to each job.
We ensure an exact experience match before appointing an inspector to assess your truck. Depending on the type of truck, different mechanics with the necessary expertise are selected to carry out the inspection.
This isn’t a job for general mechanics. All truck inspections are conducted by LICENCED HEAVY DIESEL MECHANICS with 15 to 30 years of experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles. You can be confident that with our involvement, you won’t lose money on a lemon.
Whether it's a tow truck, tipper, Pantech, crane truck, prime mover, or any other type of truck, the right inspector will always be assigned to inspect it for you.
Don’t worry if the truck has a service history or not and set aside any claims from the owner. Our specialised truck inspectors will thoroughly examine the vehicle and identify all necessary repairs, regardless of the paperwork.
At Last Check, we perform mobile pre-purchase truck inspections. We come to your location or the seller’s address and inspect the truck where it is located so that you do not need to do anything.
We perform a complete visual inspection on the truck and send you an independent truck inspection report indicating the issues we have found as well as all other things you need to know before making your final decision.
During the inspection, all visible parts of the truck get fully inspected including body and paint, chassis, underbody, suspension and oil leaks, engine, gearbox and all electronics.
The inspection includes a full test drive of the truck as well to ensure the performance is good on the road with special attention to all safety points including braking and steering.
We also perform special paint, accident and rust assessments on all used trucks to ensure the truck is not accidental, the paint quality is still good and the rust is not too severe.
After the inspection, your inspector will call you and give you a rundown of all the faults he has detected and answer all your technical questions.
Be sure that the inspector appointed to inspect the truck has the complete knowledge of the heavy vehicle and can assist you with all of your mechanical questions so list down all your questions and ask us after your inspection.
Your inspection also includes a very large picture album with up to 500 pictures showing you all the faults and the panels individually so that you see everything with your own eyes in case you can not attend the inspection.

Last Check Mobile Truck Inspectors can inspect all types of trucks available in the Australian market. We inspect all small and heavy trucks as well as all types of prime movers including road ranger gearbox and automatic transmission.
Here are the Truck Types we inspect:
You can count on Last Check Truck Inspection from A to Z and be reassured that your inspection is done only by the right truck inspector who is fully qualified, experienced and licenced.
At Last Check, we inspect all kinds of light trucks before purchase. l whether the light truck van be driven with just a normal licence, or it needs MR licence we have you all covered.
The inspector inspecting the light truck for you will be a fully qualified diesel mechanic with expertise in all types of light trucks. Whether the truck is European, American or Asian, only the right inspector with the full knowledge of the truck type will be appointed to do the inspection.
At the time of pre purchase inspection, the truck will be checked in full both mechanically and structurally to ensure it is all good and you will not face any issues down the track.
After the visual inspection, we will perform a test drive on the truck as well to ensure the engine and gearbox are well-performing on the road and is safe to drive.
Heavy trucks are trucks with over 4.5 GVM and require either an MR or HR licence to operate. The mechanical system of heavy trucks is different from light trucks with some completely different components.
As an example, heavy trucks are equipped with an air brake system which is a very complex system and is made of several parts that all need to be inspected. This requires special technical knowledge to ensure the inspector understands them all.
At Last Check, we have specialised heavy truck inspectors that can make things easy for you and give you the information you need prior to purchase.
The qualified inspectors appointed to check the heavy trucks are different from light truck inspectors and are familiar with all aspects of heavy trucks such as engine brake and air brake systems.
Pre purchase heavy truck inspection also includes a test drive like all other inspections which will be done by the licenced inspector himself.
Some truck equipment needs special licence and expertise to operate such as concrete agitators, cranes and things of this nature and requires the seller or the buyer’s expertise to ensure the system is ok.
At the same time, most of the equipment such as tippers, fridges etc. do not need any special licence and can be checked in the absence of both parties.
Prime Movers are much more complex than the rest of Heavy Vehicles therefore they only get inspected by our highest level of Diesel Mechanics & Prime Mover Inspectors.
Prime Movers have been designed to pull heavy cargo or carry heavyweights. Structurally Prime Movers are completely different from normal heavy trucks and the number of parts on them is much higher.
A normal truck has only a few gauges on the instrument cluster but this is not the case for prime movers. They are loaded with gauges and gadgets which normally exceed 20 depending on the prime mover type.
At Last Check, we have designated Prime Mover Inspectors which will be assigned to inspect the vehicle.
Not a Normal Diesel Mechanic, they are Prime Mover Specialists with full knowledge of all aspects of Prime Mover Inspections and Repairs.
If the prime mover is equipped with the old school road ranger gearbox, the test drive must be done by the seller or the buyer (whoever has the road ranger licence) at the instruction of our inspector.
The inspector will get the driver to perform all the road and safety tests in his presence and take notes. Prime mover test drive normally takes longer than other trucks as there are lots of gadgets and equipment that need to be checked.
To make a booking for prime mover inspection, just choose the heavy truck inspection option as that will cover the prime mover inspection as well.
At Last Check, our bus inspection service covers not only diesel-powered trucks but also all light and heavy electric trucks. These inspections are conducted by licensed electric truck mechanics with expertise in electric motor technology.
Electric trucks share many components with conventional trucks, such as chassis, suspension, air brakes, and powertrain systems. However, these inspections require specialised knowledge. For this reason, we assign inspectors with the appropriate expertise in electric vehicle technology to assess critical elements like the electric motor, battery performance, and potential overheating, ensuring you can invest with confidence, free from concerns.
When it comes to body and structural integrity, any collision involving an electric truck can pose significant risks. Even minor contact with the battery can lead to serious and costly consequences. Additionally, structural damage can compromise passenger safety, as it may increase the risk of fire. Rest assured, assessing structural safety is one of our top priorities in electric truck inspections. Even if the truck has been involved in an accident years ago, with no record found online, we can detect the incident and evaluate the severity of the damage.
Please refer to the inspection plans below for a detailed overview of what is covered in our electric truck inspections. In short, all major components are thoroughly examined, ensuring no critical aspect is overlooked.
Buying a Trailer is as hard as purchasing a truck. Trailers are not cheap and, in some cases, can cost more than the value of the truck itself depending on their type.
A registerable Truck Trailer has lots of parts that need an assessment before safely hitting the road.
As well as all the safety points such as tyres and brakes, there are many electronics such as lights and brake wirings and lots of moving parts as air suspension, hydraulics and steerable wheels in some trailers.
Our Specialist Trailer Inspectors with an extensive background in Trailer & Truck Repair will get to the bottom of any trailer for you and inform you of not only the required repairs but with the maintenance and service requirements as well so that you can negotiate the price before purchase.
After our visual inspection, if the trailer ticks all the boxes, another test is recommended and it must be done when the trailer is attached to a truck. It requires two people, one operating the truck and one checking the trailer on the road to ensure the lights, PTO and brakes work just fine.
All these extra tests can be done after the inspection as if the trailer is not a good buy, you will be informed not to waste your time.

We provide finance inspection on all types of trucks in Australia and issue you a report that you need for your finance company.
Our truck finance inspection is not limited to only getting the finance sorted, instead, it is a complete condition report of the truck and makes you aware of all issues so that you can choose with open eyes.
We have had many cases that people have ordered a finance inspection and we have informed them that the vehicle is faulty and they better get finance on a different vehicle which will not cost them money down the track.
We issue you our own report for the finance company and it is normally accepted across the board as an endorsed certificate by an authorised vehicle inspection company however sometimes the finance provider wants their own form filled in instead.
It should be all good and we can fill in their form at a small additional cost however you must check with us beforehand and send us their form to ensure we can definitely do it and your money is not going wasted on the inspection.
To make a booking for truck finance approval inspection, just choose any of the plans below based on your truck type but just inform us beforehand that you need the report for finance purposes so that we take all necessary actions and your money is not going to waste.
Our main goal is to exceed our valuable clients’ expectations by providing a Vehicle Inspection Service unlike any other along with the best possible customer service.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we take this very seriously. Our Licenced Inspectors do not look at any client as a number, they look at each car as if they want to buy it for themselves. This is how they have been trained before joining our force.
Our premium inspection plans include more checks which makes a big difference however our basic packages are still very comprehensive.
For each inspection, your inspector will get a different checklist and the vehicle inspection will not end until the list is completed. The checklist intensity and inclusions are based on the inspection package you have chosen, and different plans have different inclusions.
After the inspection, your inspector will call you and give you a complete verbal report over the phone. You will then have the chance to ask all mechanical questions from the same mechanic who has inspected your vehicle.
Within 24 hours of the inspection, you will receive a 25 to 30+ Page Report along with Hundreds of Pictures, Vehicle History Report (Official PPSR Report), your payment receipt and all other associated documents. To see what the report looks like, please visit the Sample Report page.
