ULTRA PERFORMANCE CAR INSPECTION

Ultra Performance Car Inspection is our premium inspection service for all high-performance cars, including the Audi RS series, BMW M series, Mercedes-Benz AMG series, Lexus F series, Nissan Skyline, Range Rover Sport, and all GT cars with large engines available in the Australian market.

Using Dyno-grade, advanced computer fault diagnosis and a range of specialised tests that we don't carry out on standard performance cars, such as insuring the vehicle for up to $100,000 and launching it at our own risk, we significantly improve the chances of uncovering hidden faults, as well as deliberately deleted fault codes. We retrieve the complete fault history of the vehicle, even if the codes have been intentionally removed from the ECU by the seller, potentially saving you thousands in repair costs.

In essence, we make the vehicle "speak" and reveal all its issues. This inspection isn’t limited to newer cars with onboard computers; it applies to all older high-performance vehicles as well. We don’t just detect current faults, if any part is underperforming but hasn’t yet failed, we can identify it. While we can't predict the future, this is the most thorough pre-purchase inspection you can get before buying a high-powered vehicle.

PRE PURCHASE SUPERCAR INSPECTION

The Pre-Purchase Supercar Inspection is designed for naturally aspirated vehicles with more than six cylinders or six-cylinder turbocharged engines. It is also suitable for all high-end luxury cars with a significant price tag, as this inspection provides the most comprehensive inclusions, surpassing all other plans we offer.

The Supercar Inspection is conducted by TWO Specialised Inspectors. One inspector performs a physical inspection of the vehicle, while the other analyses the computer diagnostic data in the office, a process that generally takes an additional 4 to 6 hours after the inspection to finalise the results.

With this plan, not only do we identify existing issues, but we also uncover the smallest imperfections, hidden faults, and even deliberately deleted fault codes with complete accuracy. We can alert you to any components that are likely to fail in the near future based on the diagnostic data collected during the inspection.

While this is not a prediction, it is purely derived from the diagnostic information gathered at the time of inspection, ensuring you don’t risk your investment on a lemon. However, like with any used vehicle, we cannot prevent future faults from occurring.

Supercars are vastly different from standard high-performance cars and cannot be inspected by regular mechanics. Everything from the powertrain to the chassis and suspension is unique, and the inspectors must have in-depth knowledge of these vehicles and their specific characteristics.

Our specialised supercar inspectors possess extensive expertise in dry sump engine technology and reinforced transmissions, allowing them to detect even the slightest issues and potentially save you thousands of dollars in repair costs before purchase.

PRE PURCHASE HYPERCAR INSPECTION

There is a subtle difference between supercars and hypercars. Hypercars typically have a more powerful powertrain with eight or more cylinders and command a higher price tag, though the distinction between them can sometimes be small.

Most hypercars are equipped with dry sump engines, which require specialised expertise to inspect or repair, such as those found in Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Nissan GT-R models. In contrast, not all supercars come with dry sump engines. Hypercars can also feature engines with 10, 12, or more cylinders, as seen in brands like Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce, where repair costs can be exceptionally high.

In addition to a more responsive powertrain, hypercars have a significantly stronger structure, including a reinforced chassis and suspension, compared to high-performance cars and supercars. The more powerful the engine, the more reinforced these components need to be. If the structure is not properly reinforced, the car could damage itself under its own G-force, so almost all hypercars feature reinforced suspension and chassis components.

The Pre-Purchase Hypercar Inspection is also carried out by TWO Highly Specialised Inspectors, but it involves additional computer fault diagnostics and specialised tools not included in a standard supercar inspection. In some cases, we conduct three or four different diagnostic tests at various stages, before the test drive, during the drive, after the drive, and following G-force acceleration, to gather comprehensive data on the vehicle's condition. This inspection takes longer to complete and may involve analysing over a hundred pages of computer scan data from different stages.

While you can choose between Supercar Inspection and Hypercar Inspection for suitable vehicles, the Hypercar Inspection is undoubtedly more sophisticated in fault diagnosis and will uncover more hidden issues. These include problems like an under-boosting turbocharger or a minor fault in a transmission solenoid, which a standard computer scan might not detect. However, with our detailed methods, we can still identify these issues. For instance, your turbocharger or gearbox may still function, but we can inform you if gear shifts between certain gears are more difficult, or if the turbocharger is functional but not delivering full power.

If your supercar is of higher value or has costly repairs, we recommend opting for the Hypercar Inspection to ensure all possible faults are detected. Keep in mind that the repair costs depend on the make of the vehicle, not its year. For example, the labour and parts costs for a 2006 McLaren are comparable to those for a 2024 model, even though the older model is much cheaper to purchase.

COMPUTER FAULT DIAGNOSIS DIFFERENCES

We conduct advanced computer fault diagnosis on Ultra-Performance Cars, Supercars, and Hypercars. Our state-of-the-art manufacturer master diagnostic computers are exclusive to each make and model, the same systems the manufacturer uses, but our inspections go beyond the factory approach.

While manufacturers usually perform a single scan with the car stationary, we put vehicles through different test conditions, multiple scan stages, and live engine data checks. This ensures even hidden issues are forced to surface.

The higher the inspection plan, the more capabilities of the diagnostic computer are unlocked. A minor fault in a performance car can become a critical issue in a supercar, and potentially catastrophic in a hypercar. For this reason, we offer three levels of diagnosis: Ultra Performance Grade, Supercar Grade, and Hypercar Grade. Each level increases the depth and intensity of the scans.

In some hypercar inspections, we conduct Multiple Scans Using Different Devices, each targeting specific systems for maximum coverage. This approach uncovers faults that standard servicing often misses.s, and this will be provided to you free of charge.

Every inspection involves TWO inspectors: one performing the hands-on scans at the vehicle, and a second specialist remotely analysing the data to detect warnings, irregularities, and hidden issues. This dual approach provides the most complete fault diagnosis available.

An important aspect of our service is eliminating irrelevant fault codes and glitches that might concern potential buyers. We often encounter numerous codes, even in a two-year-old vehicle still under warranty, but not all of them are worth worrying about. For example, a fault code related to the door lock may appear, even though the lock functions perfectly.

Rather than alarming customers with a list of inconsequential codes, we separate the significant fault codes and diagnose them to explain their meanings. This unique service is time-consuming, but with TWO inspectors involved, we can offer it as part of your inspection.

Manufacturers often charge significantly more for computer fault diagnosis alone than our full inspection price, which provides far greater value. If your vehicle is high-value with potentially expensive repairs, it is advisable to opt for the higher plans that include more scans, as the cost of repairs for critical components like turbochargers or cylinders can easily reach thousands of dollars in these types of vehicles.

HOW DO WE INSPECT SUPERCARS & HYPERCARS?

Inspecting supercars and hypercars is completely different from inspecting ultra-performance cars or standard vehicles. When inspecting standard or ultra-performance vehicles, we safely jack the vehicle up from one side, allowing the inspector to check the underbody, suspension, and for any possible oil leaks. This is done with utmost care, using special pads tailored for each make and model to ensure the jack doesn’t come into contact with the vehicle, protecting the chassis.

However, supercars and hypercars are different. Even though they have reinforced chassis and suspension, we avoid jacking them up as even the slightest damage to the chassis could have serious consequences. Instead, we use a completely different approach to their inspection.

We utilise low-profile ramps to gently raise the front and rear of the vehicle without touching the chassis. The inspector then checks the underside for any signs of chassis damage, undercarriage impacts, suspension issues, oil or fluid leaks, etc.. Afterward, the inspector thoroughly inspects the body and paint, engine bay, interior, and electronics, looking for any imperfections. The entire process is carried out with extreme care to avoid leaving any marks or scratches on the vehicle.

Additionally, we insure the vehicle for up to $100k, with public liability cover ranging from $5 million to $20 million depending on the vehicle type and location. In the unlikely event of an accident, the owner doesn’t need to worry, as our insurer will cover any necessary repairs. This insurance also applies when inspecting ultra-performance cars, giving the owner peace of mind that everything is fully protected.

We are committed to not opening any parts of the vehicle and ensuring it remains untouched. Aside from inspection essentials like torches, scan tools, and cameras, no tools will be used on the vehicle, even if requested by the owner.

The scan tools we use do not send any commands to the vehicle’s ECU, nor do we enter repair mode. Our scan tools are strictly for reading the ECU and analysing stored data without making any changes. Even if the vehicle has minor fault codes or issues, and regardless of whether the seller requests it, we never delete or modify any codes, leaving the vehicle completely untouched.

At the same time, we can advise both the seller and the buyer on what steps to take if we encounter a fault code, even if it's a minor one.
